Just a quick one – picnic and dinner in Galway

Posted on Updated on

After Dubin, we headed off to beautiful Galway. The food, the sunshine, the gorgeous greenery of it all was spectacular. Upon our arrival (via morning train from Dublin central) we checked in and found ourselves a patch of grass to refuel on. The perfect picnic of antipasti – fresh buffalo mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes, olives, salami, proscutto, spinach, and crusty bread. Gorgeous for an afternoon meal.

Dinner at the pub (pumpkin soup, fish and chips, beef and guinness pie, steak, guinness)

Delightful – and full of potatoes.

With love, from Charlotte

This all looks so beautiful and delicious! Pub dinners are my favorite. The first time I tasted really hot food (no spicy food in France) was when I first visited London some 25 years ago (shit I’m getting old). Very nice post indeed!

Thank you so much! I had such a gorgeous time, I love pub food and while there is definitely a ‘pub’ culture in Australia its so different. Totally different food, totally different charm – I miss it! But even better were the ‘bistro’s of Paris – goodness their equivalent just blows everything out of the water. C’Γ©tait merveilleux! And to eat some authentic french food – amazing! – who cares about spicy?!

Thank you so much for your gorgeous comments πŸ™‚ Lovely hearing from you!

I will never forget the wonderful trip I had to Ireland’s southwest coast!!! It was amazing. We stayed at many bed and breakfasts and all accommodations were superb. Still can’t figure out who was out in what I would think of as “nowhere” putting up all those stone walls??? And, I saw more sheep in the distance on hills seeming to not even move an inch!!! Ireland is fascinating and thought-provoking!!!

You’re blog is so informative. I don’t get to travel very often, especially outside the U.S. so it is great to see the wonderful food there is to eat all over the world. Thanks for following my blog, makethefirstbitecount.wordpress.com!

Thank you so much! I feel so blessed that I got to travel this past summer, (I had a scholarship from my university to head overseas) and I loved the food and adventures I had here. It was amazing, and I so appreciate the positive feedback! Thank you πŸ™‚

Two meals fit for queens. Your cheese and meat platter are making me hungry. What fun!
